Aldi gluten free brownie mix, advice please!
I was really excited about the gluten free brownie mix from Aldi because it's gluten free, vegan, soy free, and affordable. Has anyone had success making this mix? What egg and butter substitutes did you use?
Unfortunately for me it's kind of failed both times I've made it. The first time I used flax egg (1 tbsp flax + 2 tbsp oat milk per flax egg) and got a thick brownie brittle. The second time I used mashed banana and threw in some flax for good measure and it never progressed beyond molten lava cake even after baking for 2x the reccomended time. The oil kind of pooled on top both attempts. I used oil in place of melted butter both times because that has never failed me.
I have a box of the GF yellow cake mix as well but I'm afraid I will ruin that as well.
I wish I had photos because these fails were so bad – haha
