I am so frustrated with how people would rather put down vegans than give a crap about animals

Someone posted on a Canadian subreddit that they wanted to buy a new real fox fur hat. I commented that they should consider something else because the fur industry is cruel and inhumane. Cue me being downvoted to hell and a bunch of comments telling me that I’m an extremist pushing my values on people and that they’re going buy fur just to spite me.

Sometimes I wonder how people can continue to use animal products knowing about the conditions that animal was farmed in. Then moments like these remind me that it’s because the vast majority of the human population maybe is just way less moral than I hope and they literally don’t care. It’s the same reason we continue to buy products we know are made in sweatshops or that are bad for the environment.
