Just a friendly reminder that if (when) someone asks “where do you get your protein” it is not always an instigator, sometimes they are genuinely curious
I was just thinking about this the other day when I heard some ask the question. We hear it so much, and a lot of times it’s from people picking a fight with their preloaded questions, so naturally I think we are always very defensive.
But I think a lot of times the person is genuinely asking “oh dang where do you get your protein?” And not saying it in a argumentative way, but more like, “huh, so you’re vegan and you seem like you’re doing all right, I didn’t know you could get good protein on a vegan diet, where do you get yours?”
I think it’s very important how you respond there, because if you get defensive and aggressive, they will too, naturally.
Maybe just say something like “great question! it’s actually so easy! I always thought it would be hard to get protein on a vegan diet but I get it from tons of different sources without even trying!” And give your examples
Obviously some people will be trying to pick a fight, but I say kill them with kindness. Don’t let them affect your emotions, and answer them the say way so it becomes a habit to answer in a helpful and friendly way!
