Removing the skin of soybeans

I make soy milk from soybeans at home and all of the recipes I looked at tells removing the thin (outer) skin. Unfortunately that part is tiring and takes really long time. I guess the taste kinda gets bitter if I don't remove the skins but is there any difference than that?
