Tofu press? via /r/veganrecipes

Tofu press?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone here uses a tofu press, and if so are there any recommendations you have. I know they're not necessary kitchen tools, but they look like a nice-to-have and my family is asking me what I want for Christmas and it's the first thing that came to mind.

I really like the look of the bamboo ones I've seen on amazon, but have read that turning the bolts can be finnicky and I'm unsure if I would accidentally press it too hard if I have to do it myself.

I think the plastic ones seem to work well, but I would prefer a natural material and I'm also concerned with the plastic handles snapping, rendering the press useless. I'm also wary if the tofu would always fit the allotted size, whereas the bamboo ones are open so it can accomodate various brands and sizes.

Any feedback is welcomed! Thank you 🙂
